Salted Caramel Sauce

Truly one of our favorite sauces in the fall. This versatile sauce can be used in so many desserts from cakes, to cheese cakes, pies to gelato or ice cream. Just drizzle it over and enjoy! Caramel sauce has to be the king of all Fall sauces. Made with just 6 simple ingredients!

We believe that Salted Caramel Sauce is truly better when its homemade vs store bought. After making this recipe and seeing how easy it is to prepare, you won't want to buy store bought caramel sauce again!

Salted Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar

• 1/4 cup honey

• 1/4 cup water

• 3/4 cup heavy cream

• 1/4 cup butter

• 1 tbsp vanilla extract 

• 1/4 tsp sea salt

Directions

1. In a small pot add cream, butter and vanilla extract and cook on medium-low until it begins to boil and than take it off the burner.

2. In a small pan put the sugar, honey, and water and cook over medium high heat for 6 to 7 minutes.  If bubbles start to get too large , pat down with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon. 

3. Remove from heat and slowly pour in the cream and butter mixture and whisk until fully combined. 

4. Add salt and transfer to a container with a lid and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until ready to serve.  

Recipe Note

This caramel sauce can be kept in the fridge for approximately 3 weeks.  

When ready to serve, microwave for about 1 minute to warm up the sauce.
